The Director of Finance is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing all financial activities of an organization. This position ensures the financial health and stability of the company through strategic planning, accurate reporting, and effective management of financial resources.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts. Analyze financial performance against targets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to senior management. This includes developing long-range financial plans, annual budgets, and regular forecasts.
Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements (e.g., income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements) in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Ensure timely and accurate reporting to internal stakeholders, external auditors, and regulatory agencies.
Accounting Operations: Manage the accounting department, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions. Ensure efficient and effective accounting processes and internal controls are in place to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
Treasury Management: Oversee cash management, banking relationships, and investment activities. Monitor and manage the organization’s cash flow, working capital, and debt levels.
Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including tax laws.
Audit & Compliance: Manage the annual audit process and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations. Work closely with external auditors and regulatory agencies.
Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing finance team. Provide coaching, mentoring, and development opportunities to team members.
Strategic Decision Support: Provide financial analysis and support to senior management in making strategic decisions, such as mergers and acquisitions, capital investments, and pricing strategies.
System Implementation & Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to financial systems and processes. Stay abreast of new accounting standards and regulations and ensure the organization’s compliance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; Master’s degree preferred.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is highly preferred.
Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS accounting principles.
Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
